What types of back covers are there for quartz watches

Quartz watches have many unique advantages over mechanical watches. Although the battery needs to be replaced, the life of the battery has been getting longer and longer with the development of technology, and the frequency of replacement is not so high. In order to change the battery and repair it, the back cover is a place that is often touched. If you want to know how to open the back cover, you need to know what types of quartz watch back covers are there.
According to the waterproof case produced by quartz watch manufacturers, there are the following types: threaded back cover, press-fit back cover, one-piece type, and spring buckle type.
1. Open the threaded back cover
There are many tools for threaded back covers on the market, which are labor-saving and convenient to use. If the back cover thread is not too tight, you can open it by holding the watch in your left hand. If it cannot be opened like this, use a clamp to clamp the watch, press it from above with a watch opening tool, and then twist it. At this time, if the claw slips out of the groove, the back cover will be scratched. In order to prevent scratches, attention should be paid to: the edges and corners of the claws of the tool should be neat; the size of the claws should be aligned with the slot of the back cover; the tools should be in horizontal contact, tightly pressed and twisted by hand. It is not easy to open the watch case if it is rusted or dirty. It is necessary to fully oil the threaded part, and it will be easy to open after about 3 hours.
2. Open and close the back cover
You can use a pry opener to open the press-fit back cover. There is always a pry opening on the back cover of this type of watch, so you must first find this pry opening. Then insert the pry opener from the edge of the pry opening, lift the handle, and use the principle of leverage to open the back cover. Do not twist the pry opener at this time. Make a pry opener that matches the size of the pry opening, and the watch case is easy to open. When the gap of the pry opening is small, the edge of the tool should be thinned.
The watch case opened by the above method can be opened by inserting the pry opener into the pry opening and tapping with a small wooden hammer. However, this method will vibrate the watch and sometimes damage the quartz resonator in the movement, so try not to use it.
3. Open the integrated case
The back cover of this case cannot be opened. The crystal must be removed from the case. There are roughly two ways to assemble the watch glass:
(a) Pressing the front day ring type
The watch glass is fixed by pressing the front sun ring, and the watch glass can be removed. The inside of the watch glass is bound with sealed ceramics to play a waterproof role. When opening the front sun bezel with a pry opener, be very careful not to pierce the pry opener and scratch the inside while it is not open.
(b) with tight ring type
This watch glass is made of plastic with a tight metal ring on the inside. Removing this glass requires special tools. This tool clamps the watch glass from the outside to the inside to reduce the outer diameter and then pulls the bundle from the case. However, if the force is too large when clamping, the watch glass will break, so the force should be limited to the extent that it can just be pulled out. This type of case is also available with a decorative bezel.
4. Open spring clasp case
This kind of watch case is welded with a leopard spring plate that fits with the small front sun ring that covers its outer bezel. Insert the tip of the watch screwdriver into the concave hole, push the spring leaf, and the middle frame of the case will be separated from the front bezel, and the back cover can be disassembled.
Non-waterproof case: If you master the method of opening the waterproof case, it is very easy to open the non-waterproof case. Most of the non-waterproof issues are press-fit and can be opened with a pry opener.
